The teams at the top made it 6 in a row in this week’s Nor-Door Athletics Baseball Tournament. Both Egg Harbor and Sister Bay won their 6th without a loss. Egg Harbor won 19-4 at Baileys Harbor Friday night and Sister Bay made the trip to Washington Island and came home winners 9-7.
Sunday’s other games went to Maplewood, 2-1 over West Jacksonport in Egg Harbor and Kolberg rolled over Institute at Baileys Harbor 11-6.
In the game at the Island, it was tied going into the 9th when Alex Laughlin hit his second home run of the day with 2 on base. The Islanders scored 1 in the bottom of the 9th, but it was not enough and the Bays came home winners. Winning pitcher was Chase Lindem in relief of Sam Forkert, who went the first 5 innings. Alex Johnson went 7 and then Christian Foss came in and was the losing pitcher, he was relieved by Ben Johnson who finished.
Maplewood won their game over West Jacksonport. The Ports out hit the Mets, 10-6, but also made 4 errors which helped Maplewood to the win. There were no home runs, but Zack Marchant had 2 hits to lead Maplewood. The Ports got 3 hits from Jonas Lindemann and 2 each from Alec Schartner and Jaeger Brusky.
Kolberg scored at least 1 run in each of the first 6 innings to go on to victory 11-6 over Institute. Derek Ray had 3 hits to lead the braves who also got 2 hits from Nick LeCaptain and Charlie Neinas and Jacob Plfeiger had 2 hits for Institute. The only extra base hit was a 2-run double by Derek Ray in the 3rd inning which gave Kolberg a 4-0 lead. Winning pitcher Trevor Renhart who went the first 5 innings, the losing pitcher was Brent Haberli, who gave up 4 runs in the first 3 innings.
In Friday night’s game, Egg Harbor rolled over Baileys Harbor 19-4 in a game halted after 7 innings. The Indians broke the game open in the second inning, scoring 8 runs.

Friday night (Aug 7) it will be Kolberg vs West Jacksonport at Baileys Harbor.
Then Sunday afternoon, Institute will be at Washington Island, Maplewood at Baileys Harbor, and Sister Bay at Egg Harbor.
The winner of Sister Bay at Egg Harbor gets the number one seed in the tournament playoffs, which will be August 16 and 23.
