Shiocton knocks out Algoma, L-C done too

Shiocton beat Algoma 29-6 on Friday in a WIAA Division 6 playoff football game in Shiocton.  The Chiefs took a 15-0 lead into the halftime locker room and were never seriously threatened by the Wolves in the second half.  Algoma head coach Wade Vandervest…

Algoma scored midway through the fourth quarter on a 9 yard td pass from Shane Andrews to Nathan Petersilka to close to within 22-6.  But Shiocton recovered the ensuing onside kick and later scored to put the game out of reach.  In rememberng the 2011 season, coach Vandervest says that the Wolves (9-2) will always have the Olympian/Packerland Small Conference Championship to remember….

It was a rough night for the O/P Small, as both Hilbert and Manitowoc Lutheran also lost Level 2 playoff games.  Shiocton (10-1) will play Coleman (11-0) as the playoffs continue next weekend.

*Division 3-  Luxemburg-Casco lost to West DePere 26-0 on Friday Night.  The Spartans (9-2) only two losses were at the hands of the defending State Champion Phantoms.  West DePere (11-0) extends their winning streak to 25 games, and will play Marinette next weekend.  The Marines shutout Waupaca 17-0 on Friday.
