The Sevastopol girls basketball team won a regional title for the second time in three years as they beat Florence, 50-31, in a WIAA Division 5 regional final on Monday. The Pioneers (22-4) were trailing 22-17 in the second half and scored their first basket of the half when Naomi Rikkola hit a three pointer with 13:50 left. That basket started a 9-0 run but the Bobcats (16-10) tied the game at 26-26 only to see the Pioneers take the lead for good on a Sadie Rikkola free throw with 11:14 to play. Sevastopol ended the game on a 33-9 burst and Naomi Rikkola finished with a season high 29 points and Kayla Ranly ended with 11. Sevastopol will play Oneida Nation (18-8) at Manitowoc on Thursday (WDOR).
