Taylor Schmidt of Algoma and Marissa Selner and Alex Richard of Kewaunee have all played key roles in helping UW-Oshkosh advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championships. The Titans won the WIAC conference tournament by beating UW-Stevens Point and UW-Superior and opened the NCAA tournament with a 71-61 win over Saint Mary’s University (MN) last Friday with Schmidt scoring 13 points while Selner added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Schmidt is averaging 10.2 ppg, 2.9 assists, 2.3 rebounds and is shooting 75.8% from the free throw line.

Selner is averaging 5.5 ppg and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Richard is averaging 3.3 ppg and 4.0 rebounds per game.
The Titans will play UW-Whitewater in Greencastle, Indiana at 4:00 on Friday. The Warhawks beat UW-Oshkosh 64-46 and 72-66 during the WIAC regular season.
