SB switches to 8-Player Football

Participation numbers have dropped to a point where they were forced to make this decision on the first day of practice on Tuesday and Meikle talks about the timing of the decision….

The district says that they will announce an 8-player schedule for the 2019 season at a later date, but they will play Algoma on September 27th for homecoming at Memorial Field. Meikle says that they have three total games scheduled so far and hoping for more…

Sturgeon Bay’s enrollment will not allow them to compete in the WIAA sponsored 8-player playoffs starting in October. Travis Wilson of reports that the teams in the MONLPC-Large will be credited with a win based on a forfeit. All former 2019 opponents are allowed to fill the opening in their schedule, if possible.
