The second annual Sturgeon Bay Salmon Shootout sponsored by Howie’s Tackle of Sturgeon Bay was held Saturday, June 15th. A total of 20 boats entered the one day tournament that featured two categories.
Each team weighed their five heaviest fish. Cash and prizes were awarded to the top five winners in each class, and gift certificates and prizes were awarded to the remaining entrants. Class A winner (any size boat) was Phil Pahnke of Luxemburg with a total weight of 71.70 pounds. Class B winner (boats less than 25 feet) was Kurt Kostichka with a total weight of 63.80 pounds.
There was also a bonus prize for the heaviest salmon caught during the tournament. Lexington Homes awarded Scott Richard $1,000 for catching the heaviest salmon which weighed 25.35 pounds. Biggest rainbow was caught by Kurt Kostichka at 11.90 pounds. Jesse Madoche had the biggest lake trout at 14.65 pounds.
Class A Winners

Scott and Amy Richard along with their children Maggie and Calvin of Sturgeon Bay won $1,000 for catching the heaviest salmom. The fish weighed 25.35 pounds.
