River Falls Too Much For Bays

River Falls beat Sturgeon Bay 10-6 and knocked the Bays out of the Class “AA” American Legion State Tournament in Luxemburg on Monday.  River Falls opened a 7-0 lead after 3 innings and held off a pair of Sturgeon Bay rally attempts.  Keith Lehmann had an 3 run triple in the 4th inning as the Bays closed to within 7-3 but River Falls scored 3 runs in the top of the 6th for a 10-3 lead.  The Bays then scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th as Jared Lindemann and Lucas Stephenson had RBI singles but Sturgeon Bay left the bases loaded and did not threaten in the 7th inning.  Lehmann and Riley Cordier had 2 hits for Sturgeon Bay who finished (2-2) in the State Tournament.

Beaver Dam beat Menasha 3-2 on Monday to set up championship Tuesday.
