West Jacksonport rallied from down two to beat Sister Bay in the Door County League Sunday, 10-4. The Ports (5-3) trailed 3-1 after four innings but scored three times in the fifth and six times in the sixth for the win. Eric Bley hit a grand slam in the sixth for West Jacksonport. Mike Stoneman (three runs, two RBI) and Woody Schartner both had two hits in the win. Schartner (4-2) went all nine for the victory. Tom Sawyer, Stuart Larsen, Matt Hecht and John Woerfel all had two hits for Sister Bay (5-3). Wil Henriksen (3-3) pitched into the sixth and took the loss.
Kolberg used the long ball to beat Maplewood, 17-1. The Braves (6-2) homered five times. Jesse Miller, Bob Tenor, Travis LeRoy, Jeff Sperber and Kurt Ray all went deep. LeRoy had four hits (three runs, four RBI), Sperber had three hits (three runs, four RBI) and Miller and Eric Lardinois both had two hits. Adam Bretl (2-0) pitched the first five for the win. Allan Karas and Mickey Le both had two hits for Maplewood (2-6). Jason Shimon (0-1) started and took the loss for the Mets. He was one of four pitchers used by Maplewood.
Institute beat Washington Island in dramatic fashion, 7-6. Cody Giesseman hit a two-run, walk-off double for the Cubs (3-5). Giesseman finished with three hits. Danny Allen reached base five times (single, hit-by-pitch, three walks) and Josh Paul, Kirk Wilke and Kyle Volkman all added a pair of hits. Volkman (3-5) picked up the win after relieving Paul in the seventh. Ray McDonald homered for Washington Island (4-4). McDonald and Caleb Cornell both had three hits and Troy Jorgenson added two. Mark Woerfel (0-2) took the loss in relief of Troy Jorgenson.
Egg Harbor remains alone in first place as they beat Baileys Harbor, 8-1. The Indians (7-1) scored four times in the bottom of the first to erase a 1-0 deficit. Egg Harbor pounded out twelve hits, inlcuding eight doubles. Jake Junion had three doubles and Joe Sawyer had two. Matt Ash and Riley Spetz both had two hits, including doubles. Dave Jilot (5-1) pitched the first six innings for the win. Bob Niedzwiecki and Brett Anschutz both had two hits for Baileys Harbor (0-8). Anschutz (0-8) pitched the first five.
