The Sevastopol boys basketball team beat Sturgeon Bay Tuesday, 51-49. Up four at halftime, the Pioneers (2-0 Packerland / 4-1) were able to push their advantage to 42-28 with under eight minutes to play. Sturgeon Bay rallied, cutting the deficit down to three and the Clippers (0-2 / 2-3) found themselves at the foul line with two seconds remaining. After making the first, Sam Fruzyna intentionally missed the second, but Sturgeon Bay could not secure the rebound. It is Sevastopol’s first win over Sturgeon Bay since December 5th, 2008 (33 games and 6,213 days). Andrew Wiesner scored 18 points to lead Sevastopol while Logan Schuh added 10. Ben Ash scored a game-high 19 points for Sturgeon Bay, including 14 in the second half.
