Packers set 53-man roster

 

The Packers released 23 players, placed two on injured reserve and traded two other players to get their roster to the regular season limit of 53.  Saturday’s transactions were announced by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.  Green Bay traded fullback Quinn Johnson to the Tennessee Titans and Guard Caleb Schlauderaff to the Jets for undisclosed draft choices.  The players released include QB Graham Harrell, WR’s Tori Gurley and Chastin West, RB Dimitri Nance, DB Brandon Underwood and G/C Nick McDonald.  The others released are:

WR Diondre Borel, S Anthony Bratton,  T Chris Campbell,  T/G Ray Dominguez, NT Chris Donaldson, LB Ricky Elmore, C Sampson Genus, CB Josh Gordy, FB John Hoese, LB Cardia Jackson, DE Eli Joseph, LB Elijah Joseph, S Anthony Levine, CB Brandian Ross, NT Jay Ross, RB Brandon Saine and WR Kerry Taylor.

DE Lawrence Guy and WR Shaky Smithson were placed on injured reserve.

The Packers open the regular season against the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field in Green Bay on Thursday night.
