Not only did Conner McHugh win the 100 Yard Breaststroke event, but he also set a new National record with a time of 53.47 on Thursday Night at the 2014 YMCA Short Course Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina. Zach Warner of Somerset Valley, NJ finished second in 54.43. The previous record was held by Christian Higgins of Wilton, CT who swam a 53.69 in 2011.
Max McHugh finished 18th in the race with a time of 56.63.
