Kolberg is still perfect as they handed Washington Island their first loss of the season, 7-0 Sunday. Austin Rohe (1-0) went the distance for the win. He scttered five hits, while striking out five. The Braves scored a run in the fourth and then added three more in both the sixth and seventh innings. Jesse Miller hit a two-run homer for Kolberg (3-0). Miller and Bob Tenor each had two hits. Troy Jorgenson (3-1) worked into the seventh for Washington Island (3-1). He struck out six. Ray McDonald had two hits for the Islanders.
Maplewood earned their first win of the season as they beat Institute, 5-1. The Mets (1-3) scored a run in the first and then added two in the second and sixth innings. Chad Laluzerne and Mickey Le each had two hits for Maplewood and Calvin Falk (1-0) went all nine for the win. Falk surrenedered just one run to the Cubs and that came in the ninth inning. Falk struck out seven. Ryan Brungraber had three hits for Institute (1-3), Adam Schartner and Kirk Wilke each had two hits for the Cubs. Kyle Volkman (1-3) took the loss.
West Jacksonport (2-2) evened their record as the blanked Baileys Harbor, 3-0. Tanner Biwer (1-1) pitched the first five for the win and Woody Schartner finished the game for the save. Schartner had three hits including a two-run homer in the first. Brett Anschutz (0-3) took the loss for Baileys Harbor (0-3).
Egg Harbor scored five times in the seventh to win a slugfest with Sister Bay, 15-11. Jason Fuller, Eric DeJardine and Dave Jilot all homered for Egg Harbor (3-1), who rallied from down 7-2. Fuller and DeJardine both had four hits and Jilot, Matt Ash and Brian Cook all added three. Rob Schartner (2-0) picked up the win and Ash the save. Wil Henriksen (1-2) took the loss for Sister Bay (2-2).
