The Door County League playoffs began Sunday and the number three and four seeds both advanced to the title game. Third seeded Sister Bay blanked second seeded West Jacksonport, 2-0. Sam Forkert tossed a three-hit shutout for the win. Forkert struck out 14 batters. Forkert and Dusty Johnson both had two hits and James Larsen drove in both of Sister Bay’s runs with an infield hit and a groundout. Alec Schartner had two hits for West Jacksonport. Woody Schartner took the loss. He struck out 11.
Fourth seeded Kolberg beat top seeded Egg Harbor, 5-1. The Braves, who won last year’s playoff title, scored once in the second and added a run in the third and two more in the fifth. Jeff Sperber hit a two-run homer for Kolberg. Austin Rohe pitched the first eight for the win. Egg Harbor scratched out a run in the ninth but that was it. Dave Jilot pitched the first six and took the loss.
