Gibraltar’s Nick Kita and Luxemburg-Casco’s Caleb Willems both played for the North squad at the 31st Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Classic at Oshkosh’s E.J. Schneider Field on June 27th and 28th. Kita caught and served as a designated hitter for the North while Willems appeared at third base, shortstop and pitched. Gibraltar head coach Jay Kita was part of the North’s coaching staff.
Kita doubled in the North’s 3-0 loss to the South on Friday. Willems went 0-for-1.
Friday’s box score and recap
The North played twice on Saturday. In a 7-4 loss to the West, Kita was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Willems was 0-for-2. In a a 7-5 loss to the East, Kita was 1-for-1 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Willems was 1-for-3 and he pitched three scoreless innings. Willems allowed two hits while striking out one.
