Kewaunee Girls Are State Champs!

The Kewaunee girls won the Division 3 WIAA State Basketball Championship Saturday afternoon, with a 50-41 win over Oostburg.  Down 30-27 with 3:28 to play in the third quarter, senior Marissa Selner drained a three to tie the game.  Then the Storm outscored the Flying Dutch 20-to-11 in the fourth to claim the state title.  Kewaunee head coach Lynn Geier…

The championship is not only Kewaunee’s first in girls basketball, but its the first ever state title for any girls sport in school history.  Junior guard Jill Kleiman is proud of that fact…


Kleiman finished with a game-high 14 points and tied a Division 3 state tournament record with four three-pointers.  Kewaunee ends the season with a Division 3 state title and a record of 24-4.
