Kewaunee Comes Up Short In Season Opener

The 2025-2026 girls basketball season tipped off Tuesday and defending Packerland Conference champion, Kewaunee fell to Denmark in a non-conference contest, 49-46. The Vikings missed two free throws with ten seconds to play and the Storm were able to hurry the ball to the offensive end and get a good look at a potential game tying three. However, that shot glanced off the front of the rim and Denmark held on for the victory. Denmark had an answer for every Kewaunee run in the back-and-forth affair. Jade Kroll led the Storm with 27 points while Braelyn Chevalier added 11 points. Allie VanVonderen scored 16 for the Vikings. Paige Vogel and Alex Brice each chipped in 10 points.
