Kewaunee Beats Sturgeon Bay, Will Host Denmark

The Kewaunee girls beat Sturgeon Bay, 69-18 in a Division 3 regional semifinal Friday night.  The Storm used a solid press defense and led 24-5 after one quarter and never looked back.  Kewaunee (19-4) limited Sturgeon Bay to 10 points in the first half and 8 in half number two.  Nicole Geier scored 12 points, Marissa Selner added 11 and Alex Richard poured in 10 as ten Kewaunee players scored in the contest.  The Storm will host Denmark in the regional finals Saturday night.  The Vikings beat Mishicot Friday night, 52-44.  You can hear that game on 93.9 FM WDOR and wdor.com.  Pregame coverage begins at 6:45 with tip-off at 7.

Linnea Schmelzer scored 6 points to lead Sturgeon Bay, who finishes the season with a record of 10-12.

Also in Division 3 Friday night:
Southern Door lost at Brillion, 50-29.  The Eagles close the season at 12-12.

In Division 4:
Algoma beat Shiocton, 78-17.  The Wolves will host Oconto in the regional finals Saturday night at 7.  The Blue Devils beat Coleman Friday night, 45-22.

In Division 2:
Luxemburg-Casco lost at home to West De Pere, 43-33.  The Spartans finish the season with a record of 11-12.

In Division 5:
N-E-W Lutheran upset top seeded Goodman/Pembine, 48-38.  The 8th seeded Blazers will play at 4th seeded Sheboygan Lutheran Saturday night.
