Kewaunee Advances, Gibraltar Victorious At Jamboree

The Kewaunee football team won at Winnebago Lutheran Academy in the second round of the WIAA Division 5 playoffs Saturday.  The Storm (10-1) led 26-0 after three quarters on their way to a 32-13 victory.  Kewaunee may have put the game away late in the first half as Jesse Kleiman intercepted a pass in the endzone and the Storm went 80-yards in three plays, the final of which was a touchdown pass from Caleb Johnson to Logan Brusky with under a minute remaining in the second quarter. Johnson and Brusky hooked up on the first offensive play of the game, as the Kewaunee tight end Brusky threw and option pass back to the quarterback Johnson for a 65-yard touchdown reception. Johnson also ran for a score in the win, which sends Kewaunee to a third round game at Cedar Grove – Belgium (10-1).  That game will be at 7 PM Friday and will be heard on 93.9 FM WDOR and wdor.com.
