Green Bay Fishermen Win Sturgeon Bay Open

The team of Scott Ourada and John Allen won the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament at Sawyer Park this weekend.  They were in 2nd place after Friday with 34.62 pounds and took the top spot as they were they only team to weigh over 30 pounds on Saturday and finished with 65.62 pounds.  Having fished the tournament the previous 23 years, both were excited and relieved to take the 24th Annual Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament….[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/johnscott.mp3|titles=John Allen and Scott Ourada- winners of the 24th Annual SBOBT]Allen said that the fishing was challenging on Saturday, and that it came down to a late decision in their final hour of fishing…[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/john1.mp3|titles=John Allen- better late than never]The Canadien team of Jeff Gustafson and Dave Bennett finished 2nd with 62.95 pounds and Luxemburg’s John and Justin Burda took third with 59.16 pounds. The tournament’s big bass, 8.29 pounds, was caught by the team of Mark Fisher and Scott Bonnema.  A total of 153 teams from 16 States and 4 Canadien Providences fished the tournament this weekend from Sturgeon Bay’s Sawyer Park.
