Eagles, Wolves Split Softball Doubleheader

Algoma and Southern Door split a Packerland Conference softball doubleheader on Tuesday. The Wolves took game 9-4 before the Eagles took the second game 5-2 in 5 innings. Algoma scored 5 runs on 5 hits in the first inning, which included a 2-run home run by Natalie Ray. Southern Door closed to within 5-2 in the bottom of the third inning when Bella Price drove in Sophia Counard and scored on an error. The Wolves put the game away with 4 runs in the 5th inning as Megan Zimmer blasted a three run home run. Macie Zimmerman struck out 11 in the win, Zimmer finished 4X4, Ryley Zimmerman had 3 hits and Hannah Nell singled twice. Abi Tooley went 3X3 for the Eagles, Sophia Counard and Bella Price had 2 each and Ashlyn Delfosse, Madyson Counard, Alanah Kay, and Sophia Counard all doubled.
