Southern Door won their first Packerland Conference baseball championship since 2008 with an 11-8 over Gibraltar at Billerbeck Field in Fish Creek on Thursday. Mitchel Neubauer hit a pair of 2-run home runs (1st and 7th inning) and finished with 5 RBI. After Gibraltar took a 5-4 lead after 3 innings, the Eagles promptly tied the game in the 4th when Neubauer was hit by a pitch and took the lead for good when Derek Niedzwicki followed with an RBI single. Neubauer finished with 3 hits, while Niedzwicki, Keegan Kroening and Austin Rohe added 2 hits and Nolan Wagner hit a 2-run double. Rohe went the distance for the victory. Jack Brennan had 3 hits to lead the Vikings while Nick Kita, Anthony Laughlin (2 RBI), Conner Brennan (3 RBI) and Ben Snell (2 RBI) all had 2 hits. Gibraltar will host Sturgeon Bay in the regular season finale on Friday- first pitch is at 4:30 on WDOR.
