Institute swept a doubleheader from Maplewood by scores of 6-2 and 8-4. Jason Annis led the Cubs by collecting five hits in the two games. Kyle Volkman had four hits in the doubleheader and he won game one. Josh Paul picked up the win in game two. Paul helped himself by homering in the second game. The Mets Jason Shimon had four hits in the two losses.
Egg Harbor shutout Sister Bay, 9-0. Rob Schartner and three other pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout. Riley Septz had three hits to lead the Indians and Matt Ash and Eric DeJardine both homered.
Kolberg beat Washington Island, 10-3. Jesse Miller had four of the Braves 17 hits. Dave Neinas picked up the win and Justin Alexander earned the save. Aaron Delorit homered for the Islanders.
West Jacksonport beat Baileys Harbor, 9-7. Stewart Larsen’s two-run homer in the top of the ninth snapped a 7-7 tie. Derek Flok and Tanner Biwer both had three hits. Biwer picked up the win in relief. Tyler Becker, Patrick Larsen and Paul Nelson all homered for Baileys Harbor.
