Egg Harbor remains two games in front in the Door County League as they beat Maplewood Sunday, 4-2. The Indians (9-1) used six singles in the top of the sixth to score all four of their runs. Jason Fuller had three hits to lead Egg Harbor while Brian Crook added two. Dave Jilot (6-1) pitched the first seven innings for the win. Rob Schartner worked the final two frames for the save. Maplewood (2-8) had an early lead as they scored their first run in the fourth. Chad LaLuzerne and Jon Price each had two hits for the Mets. Calvin Falk (2-3) pitched the first eight innings and took the loss.
Sister Bay beat Institute, 7-3. Sister Bay (7-3) scored in the first inning and never trailed. Stuart Larsen hit a two-run homer in the first inning. Larsen had two hits while Justin Hartel led Sister Bay with three. Wil Henriksen (5-3) struck out ten in eight innings and earned the win. Cody Giesseman homered for Institute (3-7). Giesseman, Adam Schartner, and Kirk Schleicher all had two hits for the Cubs. Kyle Volkmann (3-7) pitched the first six and took the loss.
Kolberg doubled up Baileys Harbor, 12-6. With the game tied at six, the Braves (7-3) scored six runs in the top of the ninth. Jeff Sperber and Austin Rohe (3 runs) each had three hits for Kolberg. Greg Klaubauf (2 RBI) and Eric Lardinois (2 runs, 2 RBI) each added a pair of hits in the win. Sperber (2-2) relieved Rohe after three innings and picked up the win. Derek Niedzwiecki (2 runs, RBI) and Aaron Larsen each had two hits for Baileys Harbor (0-10). Bob Niedzwiecki added a run-scoring double. Sam Ausloos (0-1) took the loss in relief.
West Jacksonport took advantage of some early Washington Island miscues and won 7-3. Aided by five errors, the Ports (7-3) led 5-1 after two innings. Tanner Biwer, Davis Stoffel and Woody Schartner (2 RBI) all had two hits for West Jacksonport. Schartner (6-2) went the distance for the win. He had eleven strikeouts. Craig Gunnlaugsson homered and Troy Jorgenson had three hits (double) for Washington Island (5-5). Jorgenson (5-3) pitched seven innings and took the loss.
