Its late June on the calendar, but for some in Door County that means that its football season. The Door County Destroyers will begin their season Saturday when they take on the Lincoln-Way Patriots in a non-league game. The Destroyers are a semi-pro football team with a 39-man roster. Twenty-one of those players are from Door and Kewaunee Counties. Sturgeon Bay’s Chris LeCloux is not only a linebacker for the Destroyers, but he is also one of three owners. Their season opener Saturday against the Lincoln-Way Patriots begins at 4 PM.
