The Southern Door girls cross country team finished 4th in the Large School Division at the Bremser Invitational in Mishicot on Thursday. Chloe Volkman’s 16th place finish in 16:44 led the Eagles while Lily Samuels, Lizzie Buhr, Julia Englebert and Haley Paplham finished within :14 seconds of each other. Kewaunee and Algoma finished 2nd and 3rd in the Small School Division. Whitney Ebert (1st in Small, 3rd overall) led the Wolves, Brianne Barta (7th in Small, 24th overall) was the top finisher for the Storm, and Gibraltar was 7th with Justina Zukauskaite finishing 18th in the Small.
Algoma finished 4th in the boys Small Division while Gibraltar finished 5th, Sevastopol 6th and Kewaunee 9th. Jacob Wahlers (1st in Small, 6th overall) led the Wolves, Paul Aubrun (3rd in Small, 11th overall) led the Vikings, Joe Bruno led the Pioneers and Zach Baumgartner was the top runner for the Storm. Southern Door was 11th in the Large School standings with Jacob Englebert leading the way.
Volleyball
Southern Door swept Sevastopol and Sturgeon Bay swept Gibraltar in Packerland Conference action on Thursday. Algoma beat Kewaunee (3-1).
