The Sturgeon Bay soccer team won the WIAA Division 4 State Title when they beat The Prairie School, 2-1, in overtime at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee on Saturday. The Clippers (22-4-1) faced a 1-0 deficit before Eli Dietzel tied the game in the 41st minute. The match remained tied through regulation and the first ten minute overtime. Carson Dvorak scored the winning goal at 107:39 as he was credited with a glancing header off of a CJ Fairchild corner kick. The Clippers had 7 shots on goal compared to only 5 for the Hawks as Joe Wind finished with 4 saves. It’s the second state championship in school history for Sturgeon Bay.
Verona beat Neenah for the Division 1 championship, the Division 2 title went to Brookfield Central after they beat Brookfield East, and Shorewood beat McFarland for the Division 3 title.
