Clippers Aim to Make Playoffs

The Sturgeon Bay High School football team hopes that 2011 is the year that the program returns to the WIAA playoffs.  After missing the postseason last year with a (3-4) record in the Olympian/Packerland Conference, Coach Gary Rabach feels his team has enough experience to take the next step….

Among the changes teams in the O/P Large have to deal with this year is the addition of Brillion and Manitowoc Roncalli moving over from the Small, making for no non-conference games.  That leaves Sturgeon Bay opening at Wrightstown this Friday….

The O/P Large has two defending State Champions in Kewaunee and Brillion, and traditional powers Wrightstown and Roncalli along with county rival Southern Door, Oconto, Mishicot and Chilton.  Coach Rabach knows that there will be weekly challenges for his Clippers….

The Clippers return quarterback Alex Bailey, wide receiver Matt Seiler, linebacker David Tauber and lineman Casey Rosenthal; all received  O/P Large all-conference honors last year.
