Chiefs win opener

The Chiefs scored the game’s first two runs in the 3rd inning on two bases loaded walks that scored Josh Paul and Trevor Tanck.  Peshtigo’s Tyler Marquardt hit a solo home run in the 4th; then doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the 6th to tie the game.  The Chiefs scored the winning run in the 8th; Matt Petersilka started the rally with an infield single, moved to third on a two base error and scored on Tanner Biwer’s RBI groundout.  Kyle Volkman pitched 7.2 innings for the win, striking out 16….[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/MARK2.mp3|titles=Mark Sawyer commenting on Kyle Volkman]
Riley Spetz got the final out for the save.  In other games, Wrightstown beat Chilton 10-8; Denmark over Freedom 9-7.
