Big Second Quarter Sends Eagles to Win

The Southern Door girls basketball team went on a 20-0 run in the second quarter and never trailed in the 2nd half as they beat Gibraltar 55-47 in Fish Creek on Thursday Night.  The game was tied at 15-15 when the Vikings leading scorer, Makenna Ash, went to the bench with her third foul with 5:51 to play in the half.  The Eagles took advantage ad led 30-15 at halftime.  Gibraltar would get as close as 46-41 in the fourth quarter but Southern Door made 11 of 12 free throws in the quarter and held on for the win.  Courtney Van Hout scored a game high 21 points while Bailey Hanson added 10 for the Eagles.  Makenna Ash scored 20 points for the Vikings and Lauren Kita chipped in 11 points.
