The Sturgeon Bay American Legion baseball team beat Chilton Friday night at Memorial Field, 8-5. The Bays were led by David Van Dreese, who had three hits and scored three runs. Jason Lindemann (double, single) and Michael Larsen each had a pair of hits for Sturgeon Bay. Lindemann drove in four runs while Larsen knocked in three. Chase Mickey reached base three times (single, two walks). Mickey scored twice and made a fine catch in right field.
Ryan Nelson got the start for the Bays and went the first four and two-thirds. Nelson picked up the win as he allowed two runs on three hits. He had four strikeouts. Riley Schartner finished the contest for Sturgeon Bay, who is now 3-2 in the East Division of the Fox River Valley League. They are 6-4 overall.
Sturgeon Bay will be back in action Monday night when they host Wrightstown. That game will be heard on 93.9 FM WDOR and wdor.com. Coverage begins at 7:50. First pitch from Memorial Field Monday night is at 8.
