Play Ball! Those two words are sure to be music to the ears of baseball fans on the Door Peninsula. An adult baseball tournament, featuring Door County League teams, has been organized according to John Sawyer….
Sawyer says all eight teams will play everybody once– followed by a two game playoff tournament. This idea to allow the players to play came about after the Door County League cancelled it’s season in May….
Sawyer added that no admission will be charged and that only beverages will be available from the concession stand– and that there will be a donation bucket to help pay for the umpires. Fans that choose to attend will be asked to social distance and there will be extra chairs in the dugouts for the players to social distance as well. There is a meeting this Wednesday to finalize the plans to begin playing games on June 28th.
