Badgers Steamroll Boilermakers

The Wisconsin football team snapped a two game losing streak by crushing Purdue, 62-17 Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.  Russell Wilson threw scoring passes to Jacob Pedersen and Jared Abbrederis, as the Badgers led 14-10 after the first quarter.  Montee Ball ran for two second quarter scores, Wilson added a 6-yard touchdown run and Phillip Welch connected on a 52-yard field goal as the Badgers extended their lead to 38-17 at the half.  Wisconsin then outscored Purdue 24-0 in half number two.  Ball added another score and James White ran for two touchdowns.  Wisconsin improves to 3-2 in the Big Ten and 6-2 overall.

The Badgers racked up 605 yards, running the ball 54 times for 364 yards in the victory.  Ball carried 20 times for a career-high 224 yards and three scores.  White gained 50 yards and scored twice on 17 carries.  Wilson completed passes to nine different receivers and was 15 of 20 for 205 yards and two touchdowns.  Linebackers Chris Borland and Mike Taylor both had interceptions.

Wisconsin will play at Minnesota Saturday at 2:30 for Paul Bunyan’s Axe.
