The Sturgeon Bay 15 year old Babe Ruth team improved to (3-0) with an 11-1 win over Marinette at the State Tournament in Sauk City on Sunday. Ryan Jackson fired a 2-hitter for the win and had a 2 run single in the opening inning as Sturgeon Bay led throughout. Kordell Draves also had a RBI single in the first inning and Sturgeon Bay put the game away with 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Montana Gunnlauggson had a 2 run single and Elliot Weder had 2 hits in the inning. Gunnlauggson and Jared Lindemann had 2 hits in the game. Sturgeon Bay will play Eau Claire (3-0) on Monday afternoon.

Facing elimination early on Sunday, Sturgeon Bay rallied to beat Escanaba 5-4 as Alex Johnson and Jeffrey Alberts had 2 out base hits in the top of the 7th to take the lead. Alberts, Isaiah Spetz and Jake Moeller all had 2 hits for Sturgeon Bay with Spetz getting the win in relief of Brandon Krause. Sturgeon Bay would then suffer an 11-0 loss to Stevens Point and was knocked out of the tournament. Spetz had the only base hit as Sturgeon Bay finished (2-2) in Eau Claire.

Sturgeon Bay beat DC Everest 6-1 on Sunday in Janesville. Jared Van Bramer tossed a complete game with 6 strikeouts. Van Bramer and Jared Reinhardt doubled twice in the win. Sturgeon Bay will play at 9:30 Monday.
