Baileys Harbor ended a 16 game losing streak Sunday by beating Sister Bay 3-2. Sam Ausloos pitched a complete game for the win. The A’s were led by Brett Anschutz with 2 hits & Derek Niedzwiecki who scored twice. Will Henriksen took the loss for the Bays, Stuart Larsen had 2 hits & 2 RBI.
Institute used a 6 run first inning to knock off Kolberg 9-4. It was the Cubs first win over Kolberg since 2004. Kirk Wilke had 3 hits & 2 RBI, Josh Paul & Danny Allen added two hits & 2 RBI each for Institute. Kyle Volkman went the distance for the Win. Austin Rohe was saddled with the loss, he was relieved by Jeff Sperber in the first inning. Bob Tenor hit a solo homerun for Kolberg in the loss.
West Jacksonport survived a scare from Maplewood 2-1. Woody Schartner pitched the Ports to the victory, throwing a four hitter. Chad LaLuzerne pitched the first seven innings for the Mets, he was releived by Kyle Ploor. Maplewood’s Mark Villers was the only player in the game with 2 hits. Eric Bley scored both of West Jacksonport’s runs.
League leading Egg Harbor went to Washington Island & overcame an early 3 run deficit to beat the Islanders 10-4. The Islanders were up 3-0 after 3 innings, but the Indians got 1 run in the 4th, tied it in the 5th & took the lead for good in the 7th on a 2 run homerun from Matt Ash. Eric Dejardine had 3 hits, & Brian Crook & Matt Ash each had 2 hits & 2 RBI. Dave Jilot improved his record to (7-1) with the win, he was relieved by Robbie Schartner. Caleb Cornell & Con McDonald had 2 hits each for the Islanders.
