Algoma improves to 5-1

The Algoma boys basketball team held on to their share of first place with Kewaunee and NEW Lutheran in the Packerland Conference standings after a 47-32 win over Sevastopol in Institute on Friday Night.  After the Pioneers scored the first basket of the second half, the Wolves countered with a 13-5 run to put the game away.  Jake Wiese scored 14 points and Travis Kostichka added 10 for Algoma (5-1, 8-2).  Cody Giesseman finished with 12 points and Noel Farber 10 to lead the Pioneers (1-5, 2-7).  Meanwhile, Luxemburg-Casco ran their record to 10-0 with their overtime win over the Marines.
