Algoma improves to 3-0

Algoma opened Olympian/Packerland Small conference play with a 30-0 win over Gibraltar on Friday Night in Fish Creek.  After a scoreless opening quarter, the Wolves scored 17 points in the final 4:36 of the half.  A Sam Koss 35 yard touchdown run on 4th down with 5.5 seconds to play in the half gave Algoma a 17-0 lead at intermission.  Algoma head coach Wade Vandervest says his team wants to run the ball….[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/waderun.mp3|titles=Wade Vandervest, Algoma Wolves]
Koss and Zach Blahnik each had two rushing touchdowns on the night, while the Algoma defense shutdown the Vikings offense, never allowing Gibraltar into the red zone.  Coach Vandervest says his team wants to be physical….

The game was delayed by lightning with 8:14 to play before the decision was made to stop the game.  Coach Vandervest on what he and Gibraltar coach Pat Keehan talked about….
