Algoma beats Sevastopol 33-6

Institute-  Algoma opened the high school football season with a 33-6 win over Sevastopol on Friday night.  The Wolves shook off a couple of early turnovers, then took advantage of a strong running game to build a 13-0 halftime lead.  Algoma Head Coach Wade Vandervest says the offensive line set the tone for the game….

Zach Blahnik, Shane Andrews and Taylor Daul all had rushing touchdowns for the Wolves, while Andrews threw a 16 yard td to Blahnik and connected with Hunter Prokash on a 25 yard scoring pass while Trent Delorit had an interception for the Wolves.   Sevastopol Head Coach Ron Frank was impressed with how the Wolves played….

Cody Giesseman scored on a 2 yard touchdown run with :10 to play in the game, while Zach DeFere recovered a fumble and Alan Karas had an interception for the Pioneers.
