Sturgeon Bay rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning for a 4-3 win over Green Bay to win the 15 year old Babe Ruth District Tournament at Memorial Field in Sturgeon Bay on Friday Night. SB began their winning rally when Joey Sheehy reached on an error followed by a base hit by Justin Krause. Jordan Englebert bunted to load the bases with nobody out. David Van Dreese tied the game with base hit that scored Sheehy while Krause scored on a Green Bay throwing error. Keith Lehmann followed with the game winning hit, scoring Jordan Englebert. Lehmann gets the win in relief of Joey Sheehy and Riley Cordier had 2 hits. It is Sturgeon Bay’s first District Championship since 2008. Sturgeon Bay will begin State Tournament play July 20 at Sauk Prairie.
