In less than ten years, the Women’s Fund of Door County has grown its endowment fund to more than a million dollars. The success of the “Her Community Builds our Future” fundraising campaign was announced Monday morning at the Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay. During a special program, Sally O’Brien, treasurer for the local organization, reported that the Women’s Fund was now able to provide $200,000 every three years for programs that positively impact the lives of women and girls in Door County. O’Brien also noted that the Women’s Fund will continue providing $30,000 in sustainability funding annually due to the success of its fundraising effort. In August of 2015, the women’s fund announced the public phase of its endowment campaign with the hope of growing the fund to the level where at least $100,000 could be doled out each year. The announcement Monday recognizes the realization of that goal.
