Wind Causes Power Outages in Door County

Steady winds with heavy gusts led to power outages in Door County Tuesday. According to a spokesperson at Wisconsin Public Service, about 900, mostly northern Door County customers, were without electrical service during the day. There were a variety of reasons for the outages, from downed trees to branches on wires to wires banging together in the wind. Crews from Green Bay were sent to help get electrical service to the affected areas back on line. In Sturgeon Bay, things were relatively quiet, despite the wind, until about 2PM. Most of the 50 to 75 customers affected were on the east side of the city. The sporadic outages were dealt with quickly.
