Why Daoust Chose Stevens Point

In late January, Southern Door High School senior Drew Daoust became Wisconsin’s 2nd highest scoring boys high school basketball player as he scored the 2,725th point of his high school career, and he is on track to pass 3,000 points before the season is over. We were able to catch up with the Eagles’ high-scoring guard recently to discuss his plans for next year. Daoust says he had some offers from division 2 schools, but in November he announced he would be attending UW-Stevens Point. He says it was a tough decision, but he chose to be closer to home…

In addition to basketball, Daoust has also played on the varsity football and baseball teams. When asked about his preferred field of study next year, Daoust said he is leaning towards psychology, and he shared some of his reasoning for going into that field…

We here at WDOR congratulate Drew Daoust on his basketball accomplishments, and we wish him the best of success as he begins his college career next fall.
