Washington Island Woman Seriously Injured in Crash Near Oshkosh

A Door County woman sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on Highway 41, near Oshkosh, in Outagamie County. According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, 70-year Helene Meyer of Washington Island was heading north on 41 when her car, a 2014 Mercedes Benz, ran off the road & struck a bridge concrete barrier. One lane of traffic was temporarily shut down to allow emergency personnel & a tow truck to remove the Meyer & her vehicle. She suffered what was described as “life threatening” injuries & was transported to Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah by an EMS crew from the Oshkosh Fire Department. The cause of the crash, which happened at 1:39PM, is undetermined & is being investigated by the state patrol.
