Individuals who are interested in patronizing the new Wal-Mart Superstore in Sturgeon Bay should pencil in March 14th on their calendar. The 120-thousand square foot retail outlet is expected to be open for business on that date. The new facility, located behind the current store on Egg Harbor Road, will feature space dedicated to grocery items, an expanded retail area and other amenities.
Speaking of the soon-to-be former Wal-Mart building, the development agreement between the city of Sturgeon Bay and the retailer requires it to tear downt eh current store within 45 days of the receiph of a permit to operate the new facility. The completion of road improvements near the new store last year means that motorists should have had enough time to make the adjustment to the traffic patterns, including stop lights, by the time the new store is open for business.
