Visitor Spending Up in Door County

Visitor spending in Door County was up 4.3 million dollars last year. According to a report released by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, visitors spent 271.2 million dollars in Door County in 2011, an increase of 1.6% over the 266.9 million dollars visitors spent in Door County the year before. The numbers also indicate that visitor spending supported nearly 3,000 county employees, directly or indirectly, leading to 62.3 million dollars in labor income & 30.7 million dollars that went into state & local treasuries in the form of taxes.
