Every year, the United Way of Door County hands out its “Magnificent” award to a volunteer who exemplifies the very best the organization has to offer. This year, the award went to Peter Kerwin, CFO for Marine Travelift, Inc. Kerwin was lauded for his long relationship with United Way, service on a variety of committees, his enthusiasm, work in the community & back to back years as president of its board of directors. Kerwin said the award was a surprise, a pleasure & an honor. The “Magnificent” award was created in honor of the late Bob Stiefvater, a long time United Way volunteer who used the word “Magnificent” to convey his sense of good times & positive outcomes.
