Tuesday night was the United Way of Door County’s annual campaign kickoff event held at Egg Harbor’s Woodwalk Gallery. Last year’s fundraising campaign goal was $825,000, and by the end of this year’s kickoff event, Executive Director Amy Kohnle spoke about how it has been challenging to make those campaign dollars go as far as they would like them to as the current problems are larger and the needs are greater. This year, they are asking the community to help them raise $1,000,000 to help meet the needs of the community.
