An emergency call was made for an unattended brush fire in the Town of Gardner Monday evening. Shortly after 5:30PM, the fire was reported near where South Road meets County Road N. The caller reported an area 10-feet wide burning with embers flying in the gusty wind. The B.U.G. Fire Department sent 4 trucks with 10 firefighters to extinguish the fire with approximately 50 gallons of water. Fire Chief Vandertie also shared a warning about the recent dry conditions…
Fire Chief Vandertie reports that the property owner was given an educational warning about the burn permit rules which were violated, and any further violation would earn a citation.
All units were able to clear the scene in just under 45 minutes, and there were no injuries during the response.
