A superintendent’s search committee for the Southern Door school district conducted interviews with prospective candidates for district administrator Tuesday & Wednesday & settled on two candidates & an alternate. The top two prospects will be asked to take part in another interview. They are 65 year old Roy Jonjak, part time superintendent for the Gillett school district & retired superintendent from the Ladysmith school district & 57 year old Patricia Vickman, executive director of human resources for the Oshkosh school district. A total of 21 applicants expressed interest in replacing superintendent Joe Innis who is retiring at the end of the year after 22 years on the job. That list was whittled down to six individuals who were scheduled for interviews this week. A community forum is being scheduled for Wednesday, November 16th in the Southern Door auditorium. Individual sessions will be conducted for community input & questions with the two finalists. Plans are to hold these sessions at 7PM & 8PM on that evening
