Trailer Fire

Six units from the Sturgeon Bay fire department, with mutual aid provided by Southern Door firefighters, fought a fire in a mobile home at 5861 Cedar Creek Road, in the Town of Sturgeon Bay, late Friday evening. The Alvin Grovogal home is considered a total loss. More than two dozen firemen were involved in the firefighting operation. The fire call came in at 11:32PM & the first units on the scene found the mobile home & an attached garage fully engulfed in flames. Southern Door provided tankers & men & a fill site was set up near County Trunk U & Tacoma Beach Road. In all, 16,000 gallons of water was used to put out the blaze. At this point, the cause of the fire is being listed as “undetermined” & no dollar value for the loss is available. The occupants were alerted by a barking dog & smoke detector. We’re told, Alvin Grovogal was taken to a Milwaukee hospital for treatment. Fire crews were back at the Sturgeon Bay fire station at 3:39AM Saturday.
