While reports of influenza cases have been numerous in some parts of the country, including Wisconsin, has been hit hard by the flu bug, Door County is holding its own. Kolberg says 2,800 cases of the flu have been reported in the Badger State. She says that may be the ‘tip of the iceberg’ given the fact that not everyone will be tested for the bug. Kolberg says this season has been the worst flu season in Wisconsin since 2008 when the H1N1 pandemic hit. But there’s good news, there’s still plenty of time to get a flu shot…

The flu season actually got underway a month earlier than usual. Typically the bug is around from early January through February.
